This child’s bib is very special. It was lovingly embroidered using a very small forbidden stitch in the central motif. The design features a peony, an emblem of love and affection, and a bat, a symbol of good fortune. The bib was probably made around 1880 to 1900. We had it framed in the U.S. by a conservator.
