These embroidered silk boots are quite a find. No, they were not for bound feet but were made for small boys. The soles are composed of a cork-like substance with a leather bottom. The colors in the satin stitch embroidery are lovely. The boots must have been saved for special occasions, but even so, they are somewhat frayed on the inside.
