These embroidered silk shoes were hand made for a Chinese lady with bound feet. The shoes were made in the early 20 th century. The practice of foot binding no longer exists, but there are still some older women in China today with bound feet. Our shoes have been handsomely framed in a shadow box. We have other framed textiles in our warehouse.
