Drying clothes seem to flutter in the air in this contemporary peasant painting from Jin Shan , near Shanghai. This is a hand painted copy of an original peasant painting. It is in a black metal frame with acrylic glass which measures 7.75” x 7.75”. Paintings such as this developed during Mao’s Cultural Revolution. Students were sent to the countryside to labor in the fields. Some of them, in their free time, taught farm people to paint.
